Or is that left to the imagination of the viewer? 5 out of 10 found this helpful. The protagonist does some very bad things, but for what he thinks are the right reasons. I was hooked from the start. This show is a winner and I sincerely hope season two is in the making, or nearly completed!

Its a little slow at the beginning but the end of the first episode grabbed my interest, but its grip loosened in and out throughout, leaving me bored in some places and interested in other places. 9 out of 12 found this helpful. So disappointing after quite a good series Norwegian police thriller Borderliner is the perfect example of how to take an interesting premise and squander any ambition with a questionable ending, clumsy pacing and incredulous character logic. I liked the aspect that it featured a normal mystery crime story with a gay character though him being gay was a very small detail, you could easily forget he was gay as it his interactions with his love interest are probably only 10 to 30 seconds of each episode. It's an interesting dynamic. I would have given this a lower rating, but decided to add a star or two, just because it kept me watching until the bitter end; an ending that left me disappointed. The filming is technically superb. 5 out of 8 found this helpful. Just a "cliff hanger" to keep us guessing and wondering - ripped off viewers big-time. English dubbing seems OK, though the Norwegian and Swedish original must have nuances that escape the senses of an Anglophone. Was this review helpful? Nikolai can never seem to get break which made me feel bad for him. It's in Norwegian with English subtitles. A couple of episodes less and a switched perspective to Anniken as the main protagonist may well have benefited this series, especially given the slickness to the camera work that graces large stretches of this 8 episode series.
