If those are the sandals you're considering, I highly recommend them. I will try nonetheless on Saturday.I feel incredibly stupid, because I had the size 9 1/2 at home and have already sent them back. When I would walk in them, my feet moved a great deal within the shoe.So I return the size 9 1/2 and went back to the store yesterday to buy the initial size 9. They're mine but it's not the usual delicate sandal. I also have another model that's much better.I actually think that the footbed fits okay. Should I get an 8, or go bigger and get a size 9? Now I have DM CoronadosTry getting an insole and seeing how that works out, I’ve been in the same position myself (not with docs however) and sizing up and getting an insole almost always works out for me.I bought a pair of 3988 MIE Last year during the heat wave $94 sale. Does anyone know if these are made in smaller sizes and Nordstrom is out, or is this a unisex shoe that starts at a 7? (Edit: that is, if very clunky shoes are your style. I have a pair of booties and a pair of fisherman sandals on my wish list. I wore them for the first time and am realising that my feet are actively hurting as my toes continuosly touch. My question to you: Is there a way a cobbler can stretch the shoes lengthwise? I was thinking of these:They are not the typical lace-up Docs. If anything, the sole is on the small side for my foot, but the instep is so high that the eyelets nearly touch when they're laced, because I have to tie them so tightly. Press question mark to learn the rest of the keyboard shortcuts ?The thing is that my toes hit the front/top of the shoe.

I don't know what size to get. A high instep would push the eyelets apart.I have the same problem with many boots and shoes. A little big but depends on style. But I just wear mine with thick socks anyway...I find they run wide but true to size for length. © 2020 YOULOOKFAB, LLC. If they fit well, I have to decide if I want this color or the traditional black and if I should buy sandals at all since my toes have Raynaud's and get cold at the drop of a hat.
Answer Save. I tried on about seven different models of DMs in multiple sizes (I'm 10.5 normally) and visited their store twice, just to get shoes that actually fit. Update: 2 Answers. (I'm a size 9.5)? In my experience width relates to style, but generally tends to be on wider range for most. They're hell if they fit too small so I ended up going with the larger size and adding insoles and now they fit perfectly (and are also incredibly comfortable).Docs run very wide. I had a lot of space around my ankle (my foot is relatively narrow) and around 1 thumb width space lengthwise.

My solution was to buy the size 12 US and use the Dr. Martens padded inserts.New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be castReddit's largest men's fashion community.

I think Doc's run a bit small. I found them to be true to size, but I needed shoes that laced up to accommodate my wide forefoot and comparatively narrow heel.

It's just that with the size above my foot wobbles so much within the shoe. )ask yourself, how badly was your toe touching the edge? Do Dr. Martens boots run big or small? .

Not sure if I should size up or size down or give up completely. Dansko 37s tend to fit me because they are 6.5-7.If this brand runs narrow - TTS, I will pass since I need TTS - wide.My experience is that they run a bit big *and* wide, but it really may depend on where you fall in the Euro size range.

If yes, maybe they can help you with your question. You could try to stretch them using shoe trees since that's usually advised when Docs are too tight around the heel (at least with the 1460) but I have no idea if that works with the toe box as well.
We welcome those who want to learn and those who want to contribute. I live in Geneva and bought a pair of UK size 9 (EU size 43) Dr. Martens 3989 Made in England about a month ago. It'll be a painful week of blisters and plasters but eventually they'll fit perfectly.as for your toe hitting the side, i cant give advice on that remotely, but worth noting that shoes will expand a little in time. So I measured my feet and they are 24.5 cm (9.44 inches) and I am AUS size 6. AFAIK around one thumb width space lenghtwise is actually perfect (or at least that's what every salesperson told me so far).I will try and return them, but already with the last return the store owner was incredibly annoyed and only reluctantly returned them to me. In DMs I buy 5s (which feel a touch tight when I first put them on), because when I once bought a 6 (that felt perfect when I first put them on), they stretched over time and became too loose. This is a 1460 model and I don't remember it being so bad in the past, with previous 1460's I've owned. I am incredibly frustrated with finding the right sizing for my Dr. Martens shoes. posted in Shopping: I bought the 8 eye black patent in a size UK6 and in American sizes I am a size 7 and I tried them on (with socks) then looked in the mirror.
